The ‘Child Dental Benefits Schedule’ – A new dental program commencing 1 January 2014.

The Australian government has recently announced a new dental scheme for eligible 2-17 year olds that will provide up to $1000 of benefits for basic dental services.

A child is eligible for the ‘Child Dental Benefits Schedule’ if:

–          He or she is aged between 2-17 years on any day in the calendar year; and

–          He or she is eligible for Medicare; and

–          Receives or is part of a family receiving a relevant Australian government payments such as Family Tax Benefit Part A.

Eligible children or their parents/guardian will be sent a notification letter from early 2014 notifying them of eligibility for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
