Adelaide Hills Family Dental is located at 38 Adelaide Road Mount Barker – adjacent Sexton Gover Watts Real Estate. Our modern state of the art facilities are located within the premises of the Adelaide Hills Medical and Dental Centre, together with GPs and other allied health professionals.

MEET OUR TEAM

Dr. Julian French

Julian is passionate about providing caring, gentle and high quality dental treatment to all patients. Julian graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. Julian previously worked as a Dentist at Payneham and Allenby Gardens as well as being a clinical tutor for undergraduate dental students at the University of Adelaide. Julian was born and raised in Adelaide, attending Unley High School. Outside of dentistry Julian enjoys following the AFL, playing cricket and gardening on the weekend. Julian is married to wife Kellie. Julian and Kellie have two children, son Charlie and daughter Zoe.

Dr. Clare McCusker

Clare graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2013. She worked as a dentist in Scotland before moving to Adelaide in 2017 where she has previously worked in general practice in the western suburbs. Clare enjoy dentistry as a profession. One of the aspects she enjoys most is getting to know her patients, working with them to help them achieve the beautiful and healthy smile they desire in an environment which she hopes they find friendly and as comfortable as possible. Outside of work Clare enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling and exploring all Australia has to offer.

Dr. Patrick Byrne

Originally from Scotland, Patrick emigrated from Glasgow with his family settling in South Australia in 1979. Graduating from the University of Adelaide in 1991, he started his dental career in Mount Gambier fine tuning his skill in a very busy country practice. In 1994 Patrick started his own solo practice in Port Pirie where he spent 16 wonderful years in the local community raising his young family. Since moving back to Adelaide with his family, Patrick has enjoyed working in several clinics in both the city and Adelaide Hills. Ensuring his patients receive the most up-to-date dentistry, while building trust and confidence in the service is at the cornerstone of Patrick’s philosophy. Outside of work Patrick enjoys running, tennis, golf, camping and hiking.

Dr. Debbie Tok

Dr Debbie Tok graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Adelaide. Debbie provides high-quality dental care in a comfortable and relaxed setting and is quick to help anxious patients feel at ease. Outside of dentistry, Debbie enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafes, going to the gym, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Faris Danial

Born in Singapore, Faris moved to Adelaide to complete his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2023 at the University of Adelaide. Faris has a keen interest in fixed prosthodontics such as crowns & implants, and paediatric dental care. He also strives to continuously further expand his knowledge and skill set in all aspects of dentistry. Faris takes pride in being gentle and caring towards his patients. He believes in building rapport and providing care in his patients’ best interest. Outside of dentistry, Faris actively frequents the gym to keep healthy and fit. He is a fan of football (or soccer) and F1 in which he is an avid supporter of Chelsea Football Club and Max Verstappen. Being young at heart, he also enjoys gaming to keep his mind off of work!

Hannah Sandlant

(Dental Hygienist)

Hannah has a wealth of dental experience since working in the field since 2002. Starting off as a Dental Nurse, Hannah went on to complete the Bachelor of Oral Health program at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 2007, where she received the Dental School Medallion for her studies and clinical practice. This took her to Melbourne, where she worked extensively in both private and public practices for five years before returning back home to settle and start a family in the Adelaide Hills. Hannah is passionate about educating patient’s on their periodontal health and has a keen interest in tooth whitening. She is also an active member of the Dental Hygienists’s Association of Australia. When she’s not a work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her husband, Alex, and trying to cook/bake with their two year old daughter, Isabelle, as well as pottering around in the garden.

Lauren Fry

(Dental Hygienist)

Lauren has been working in the dental industry for over 10 years. She started her dental career working as a dental assistant and completed the Advanced Diploma of Oral Health in 2015. Lauren has spent time working in both the suburbs of Adelaide and in rural SA for the last 7 years and has now joined us in Mt Barker, closer to home. Her main goal is to give patients the best possible experience by motivating and using individualised strategies to improve their oral health. Lauren’s interests are working with seniors, those with special needs and treating Advanced Gum Disease. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time outside with her young family and walking her German Shepherd.
