Dental Fillings

Dental fillings ensure that teeth are restored back to their healthy state and can continue functioning normally. The decay will be removed from the cavity and will be filled with a dental filling material.
Dental fillings are needed when you have a tooth cavity that may be causing issues such as:
-
Tooth decay
-
Sensitivity
-
Gum issues
-
Enamel loss

Tooth fillings are a quick and effective procedure for stopping further tooth decay.
At Adelaide Hills Family Dental we ensure the tooth filling procedure is fast and simple. The procedure involves giving local anaesthesia to numb the area around the tooth, removing the decay and then cleaning out any bacteria, shaping the tooth for the filling, placing the filling, which can be a tooth coloured filling, and then shape and polish the tooth.

Then you can enjoy your new, strong, restored tooth. Sometimes tooth sensitivity may exist after a filling and should resolve in one to two weeks.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

Our teeth are subject to wear and tear over time including age, broken fillings and decay. These can lead to wearing down, cracking or breakage of teeth. When the roots of a tooth are healthy but the surface of the tooth is damaged, then a crown will prevent losing the tooth.
Dental crowns are tooth caps that cover the entire visible surface of the affected tooth and protect the weak, damaged tooth. As well as protecting the teeth, a crown also aesthetically enhances the appearance of the tooth by making it life-like and functional.

A dental bridge is a false tooth or teeth that have been fused between crowns to fill the gaps left by missing teeth. Teeth can fall out for a number of reasons including disease, decay or trauma. A bridge is used to restore the look of the teeth and their function.
Bridgework is most commonly used when there are only a few missing teeth as they are anchored to surrounding natural teeth. The bridge and crowns are designed to blend in with natural teeth and should be undetectable.
